Tim Keller: Disciplines of Distress

Last Tuesday Tim Keller gave a 20 minute video devotional from his Manhattan living room on Psalm 11. You should read and listen to anything Tim Keller does. He is the C.S. Lewis of our times.

John Piper: Coronavirus and Christ

I love John Piper! I cut my young, theological teeth on his books and sermons. He published a brief letter on the Coronavirus:

The secret is this: Knowing that the same sovereignty that could stop the coronavirus and doesn’t, is the very sovereignty that sustains the soul in it. Indeed, more than sustains — sweetens with hope that, for those who trust him, his purposes are kind, even in death." Read the rest HERE.

Paul Tripp: Five Thoughts from Quarantine

Paul Tripp is an author, counselor, and speaker who really knows how to apply the gospel to everyday life. He once came to Seven Rivers for a marriage conference. His book, New Morning Mercies is one of the best devotionals I have read in recent years. Last week he posted a helpful reflection called "Five Thoughts from Quarantine".

Rosaria Butterfield: Hospitality During COVID-19

How do we continue to be a people who practice gospel hospitality when we are told by the government to practice social distancing and self-isolation?

Sometimes fear can cause us to shrink back from fulfilling God's call to love our neighbors. Author and PCA pastor's wife, Rosaria Butterfield offers some really great guidance HERE.

Jackie Hill Perry: Eyes Like Judas

While preparing for last week's sermon on Judas, I discovered this video from artist, Jackie Hill Perry. It was too intense to put in the virtual service (because of little children watching), but it is really good and very powerful! I love the artistry involved, both the spoken word poetry and the cinematography.

Andy Crouch Podcast: Cultivated

I'm not much of a podcast listener, but Chad Townsley is, and he highly recommends the show "Cultivated". Author Andy Crouch interviews Christian thinkers on the intersection of faith and work. He also has a book on the same topic called Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling.
